Formally established in Buckinghamshire, U.K. in 1992, the Quiet Garden Trust exists to promote and make available ‘step-aside’ retreats in pastoral, meditative, bucolic settings all around the world.
These Eden-like spaces are set aside for the weary traveler to rest and pray, without the expense, stress or time involved in a more traditional retreat.
Benedictine spirituality has long been associated with respect for the local environment and appreciation of God's work in nature. Our Lord prayed often in a garden setting, even spending entire nights there.
While that is not possible for most of us, we can get away for a day or an afternoon to a quiet place for reflection and communion with our Dear Savior. St. John’s is just such a place.
We sponsor monthly quiet days, regular mini-retreats, taught classes in Benedictine spirituality and occasionally Taizé services as well.
We work with all people of good faith, and are open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in helping each person find their own quiet center; that place inside themselves where God’s still, small voice can be heard.
Do please contact us for more information and please, remember us in prayer.
